Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) allows acquiring data on biomass decomposition (combustion, torrefaction or pyrolysis) steps involving mass losses. Simultaneous differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) detects all the heat effects of the sample, and volatiles can be transferred to gas analyzers for identification.

Applications of SETARAM ‘s thermal analyzers and calorimetry for biomass include:
